Kevin sits on the board of directors of an investment trust established in 1897. He directs the technology portfolio, often participating in the corporate governance and taking an active role in the management of those companies in his portfolio.
Kevin’s professional background is in human resources where he led human resources for North American engineering and sales employees of a billion dollar computer company. He advanced into general management when he became CEO of an executive development training company where he stayed ten years.
In addition to Kevin’s duties to the private equity company he serves, he operates an engineer concern as a family business and personally advises the management of a global e-commerce enterprise in the home entertainment industry.
Dr. Balog has been a member of the academy since 1981. He leads MBA and executive MBA courses, serves on and directs master’s and doctoral research committees, and continues to facilitate executive retreats.
His own doctoral research was a sixty month study in the Chicago business community. His dissertation, CEO Peer Groups: A Case Study in Action Learning was subsidized by a grant from the Illinois General Assembly.
Kevin holds the Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) accreditation. He has published/presented 23 occasional or White Papers, typically as commissioned by larger corporations.
